CLOUD 9 TOWER RESTORATION GETS GO SIGNAL
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The restoration of the Cloud 9 Towers has officially been given the "go signal" through a partnership between the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the LGU of General Luna, and the Province of Surigao del Norte.
The tripartite agreement was signed by PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio, Commissioner Matthew Gaston, Gov. Lyndon Barbers, Mayor Johnson Sajulga, and Vice Mayor Doc Minmin Rusillon-Sajulga, marking the formal commencement of the project.
The plan features a 3-story watchtower and a 2-level viewing deck connected to the boardwalk—designed to be a stronger and more world-class facility for Siargao.
Timed perfectly for the upcoming WSL QS6000 International Pro (October 16–25), the restoration is expected to be fast-tracked to bring the global spotlight back to the island.
According to local leaders, this project is not just about construction, but about reviving the heart of Siargao—boosting tourism and the livelihoods of the local community.
